With Love,
The 2023 Valentine's Day Capsule Collection
This piece was inspired by the timeless, beautiful and sensual novel Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez. In the book, Florentino calls Fermina his Crowned Goddess, and this couture cocktail hat is covered in pleated roses perfect for a crowned goddess.
Beautiful, vibrant and classic. |
Always on the quest to find love and romance, Mindy Lahiri from The Mindy Project was the inspiration for this piece. Funny and brave, she wasn't afraid of bold fashion or big love. I think Dr. Lahiri would have looked fantastic in this piece while sparring/flirting with Danny.
This sinamay heart is covered in black veiling and adorned with a flat sequin bow. |
Come what may...the greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love, and be loved in return...
Haunting and true, this sculpted jinsin headpiece would fit perfectly into Baz Lurham's version of Moulin Rouge. This knotted headpiece lays on a shaped straw heart that sparkles like diamonds with a lace sequin heart and two feathers, one painted in gold leaf. |
Red wool diamond pillbox with hand cut felt roses blooming on the sides of this hat.
She Loves Me is a musical in which Amalia falls in love with her penpal who turns out to be someone quite closer to her than she thinks. I can imagine Amalia waiting at the cafe with her book, a rose, and a vanilla ice cream (one of my favourite songs), and writing "Dear Friend..." while wearing this romantic pillbox hat. |
Covered in yellow, for someone who was born to stand out, this pom pom halo band reminded me of Penelope Featherington of Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series.
Soft pink parasisal straw with yellow ribbon is echoed in the voluminous, flirty tule pom pops and curls. |
"I love you like XO..."
If there was any song perfect for this wool felt heart hat, it would be the song by Beyonce: "XO". Stitched to the side, and for the world to see, are the letters XOXO. |
In all fashion shows (and good movies, shows and most novels), the final piece is for a wedding. This is my homage to honor that tradition.
This wedding headpiece is a pleated ivory silk bandeau with veiling. The cage veiling is adorned with crystals with one light blue crystal for luck. This piece was inspired by one of my favourite books, Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook. |
